Do you rent bikes?

Yes.  We have Specialized Allez and Dolce bicycles available. Please contact us about your rental needs.

What if I choose to ship my bike?

We have a fantastic shipping service available through our bicycle store partner, who will take care of everything from the shipping label and arranging the pick-up of your bicycle for shipping, to reassembling your bike before your tour and repacking and shipping back to your home or office.

What is the average daily mileage?

You can expect to ride an average of 40 to 50 miles per day, always with the option to ride more or less.  Wine tasting tours are generally fewer miles.

What kind of terrain will we be riding?

The gold country terrain is hilly! Some days may be up to 3-4000′ of climbing.  We also have many options for flat road riding.

What are the fitness requirements?

Riders should be able to ride a minimum of two, and up four-plus hours per day, up to five days consecutively.

What kind of weather can I expect?

The average temperature in March is about 65 degrees. Rain is always a possibility. The average temperature in the fall is about 75-78 degrees, perfect for cycling. Rain is, again, a possibility in the fall.

What is your rain policy?

We ride rain or shine, unless conditions are deemed unsafe for our riders.

What is your cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy is as follows:

**  If you are forced to cancel your tour more than 60 days prior to departure, you will receive a 100% refund, minus any fees incurred by Giro D’Oro Cycling for the processing of your credit card deposit.

**  For cancellations between 30 – 60  days prior to departure, a 15% cancellation fee will be charged.

**   For cancellations less than 30 days prior to departure, you will receive no refund.

**   ALL CANCELLATIONS MUST BE MADE IN WRITING.

Do you accommodate families and children? What about spouses who don’t ride?

Yes. We encourage riders to attend with their families on family vacations. Why? Because our area offers numerous opportunities for non-riding spouses and their children. Sacramento has fabulous water sports activities, places of historical interest, and loads of fun and adventure for everyone. The minimum age for riders in a tour group is 18.

Do you do custom tours?

Absolutely!   Just let us know what we can do for you.

Does Sacramento have an airport?

Yes. Construction has just been completed in 2011 on the new terminal at the Sacramento International Airport, located just 40 minutes from Folsom. The airport has Blue Van shuttle service and car rentals, and public transportation is available.
